About us

The Cat Action Trust consists of a national network of volunteers working to save cats from a life of hunger, hardship and abuse. We don't discriminate and try to help any cat however they come to us, whether they are stray, feral, abandoned or lost.

The North East Scotland Branch was founded in May 2018 and aims to improve the quality of life of such cats in our area.

We are run totally by a team of volunteers who are dedicated to the welfare of cats.

What we do

We are very much a self-funding branch and therefore we depend on the goodwill and generosity of the public for donations to help needy cats and kittens in our area.

Rehoming / Adopting

If you are looking to adopt a cat or kitten then we would arrange for a home visit to be carried out. Home visits are nothing to worry about, it's just about finding the right cat the right home.

Lost / Found Cats

If you have a missing cat or there is one hanging around and you feel it could be lost, we can offer advice and assistance.

Outdoor / Feral Cats

A large part of the North East of Scotland is rural, with farms and properties which are rather isolated. In such areas we often receive reports of feral colonies. We try to assist with TNR (trap, neuter, return) wherever we can as neutering the cats will stop more and more from being born. We also ensure that the cats are fit and well. We can sometimes assist with relocating once neutered, if the cats aren't able to remain on their site or it is unsafe for them to stay.

Support Us

We support colonies of feral cats, feeding them daily, taking them to the vets if unwell, and ensuring that they are regularly treated for fleas and worms. Food for these cats is always greatly appreciated, so if your own cat is fussy and doesn't like some flavours, we have some ferals who would be happy to help out with your surplus!

You can also help us with fundraising, and could even set up a direct debit for a small monthly amount which would be of great benefit to the cats.
